Greetings from Karloffornia, Fright Fiends! This last Sinister Saturday was Alice Cooper’s birthday, a ghoul we love to pieces! We’ve talked about The Coop on numerous occasions, but did you know that he is proud practioner of The Munster Mash?
Back in 2008, The Godfather of Shock hosted a marathon of 18 episodes of The Munsters on WGN America to promote his newest album at that time, Along Came a Spider! After the marathon, WGN aired the epic musical horror short used to promote the album and a “Making Of” short. This trip to 1313 Mockingbird Lane is ideal for a monster like Cooper, who has a knack for blending the horrific and humorous, just like the Munster family. While information is hard to find, it appears that The Coop returned in 2010 to celebrate the proud family of creeps once more.

This Halloween you’ll howl with laughter and scream with delight as WGN America presents “THE MONSTROUS MUNSTER MASH,” 18 back-to-back episodes of “The Munsters,” television’s First Family of Fright. Hosted by legendary shock rocker Alice Cooper, the nine-hour marathon featuring the odd occupants of 1313 Mockingbird Lane will air Sunday, October 31st from 10am to 7pm ET (7am – 4pm PT).
The iconic Alice Cooper, who was named the world’s most “beloved heavy metal entertainer” by Rolling Stone, will be hosting opens and interstitials for “THE MONSTROUS MUNSTER MASH.”

“THE MONSTROUS MUNSTER MASH” will feature the following gruesomely goofy episodes:
My Fair Munster – In this, the very first produced episode of “The Munsters”, Grandpa tries to cure Marilyn’s dating problems with a love potion that he slips into her breakfast but ends up being served to the rest of the family.
Munster Masquerade – Marilyn’s boyfriend talks his parents into inviting the Munsters to their masquerade party before he meets them.
Lo-Cal Munster – Herman nearly loses his mind when he goes on a crash-diet and his doctor has a similar reaction when they meet for the first time. Paul Lynde guest stars.
Rock-a-Bye Munster – Herman and Grandpa assume that Lily is pregnant after eavesdropping on a conversation between Lily and Marilyn. Paul Lynde guest stars.
Eddie’s Nickname – Eddie wants to quit school after his schoolmates nickname him “Shorty.” But that becomes the least of his problems when Grandpa mixes up a “magic milkshake” that’s supposed to make Eddie grow six inches taller overnight. Paul Lynde guest stars.
Movie Star Munster – Herman thinks he’s Hollywood-bound when he signs what he thinks is a movie deal but is actually an accident policy from a pair of insurance scammers.
Herman the Rookie – Herman tries out for the Los Angeles Dodgers and baseball legend Leo Durocher.
Lily Munster, Girl Model – Lily lands a job as a fashion model. But when Herman becomes jealous fearing she’ll get hit on by other men, Grandpa transforms Herman into a swinging playboy and himself into Herman’s hot date to make Lily jealous.
Herman Picks a Winner – When Herman attempts to teach Eddie a lesson about the risks of gambling, he gets himself mixed up with an illegal betting racket. Charlie Callas guest stars.
Just Another Pretty Face – Herman becomes disfigured by a bolt of electricity and ends up looking like Fred Gwynne. Dom DeLuise guest stars.
Grandpa’s Lost Wife – When a woman claims Grandpa is her long-lost husband, he denies ever having seen her before… until she alludes to her financial wealth. Jane Withers guest stars.
The Fregosi Emerald – Bad luck befalls the Munsters when Eddie gives Marilyn a ring he found for her birthday that Grandpa recognizes as the cursed “Fregosi Emerald.”
Zombo – Herman gets a monstrous makeover when he becomes insanely jealous of Eddie’s obsession with a local TV horror show host. Louis Nye guest stars.
Prehistoric Munster – When Marilyn unveils a clay bust she made of her Uncle Herman to her university professor, he foresees a future of fame and fortune by mistakenly assuming that Herman is a missing link. Harvey Korman guest stars.
A Visit from Johann – Dr. Victor Frankenstein IV comes to Mockingbird Heights and asks Herman to help him civilize one of his great grandfather’s rejects who’s been terrifying people and looks exactly like Herman.
Herman the Tire-Kicker – Herman winds up in the slammer when a shady used car salesman sells him a stolen clunker. Frank Gorshin guest stars.
A House Divided – An all-out feud between Herman and Grandpa erupts when an argument leads to Grandpa claiming half ownership of the Munsters’ home and Herman divides the house in half.
Herman’s Sorority Caper – Grandpa hypnotizes Herman into a trance to cure him of his hiccups. Later that night, two college students instructed to spend the night in the Munsters’ home as part of a fraternity initiation mistaken Herman for a wax dummy and sneak him into a sorority house. Bonnie Franklin and Ken Osmond guest star.
